Diagnosis of four families during period of active honey collection.

In the screenshots you can see the result of control of four families of our experimental apiary in the evening after the completion of bees'  flights. The time is approximately 21-00. All families except one were examined personaly. The result is as follows ...

Family 8-1.  Good job on honey collecting. Sealing of honeycombs in a honey super has begun.

Family 5-1  Good job at the honey collection. Sealing of honeycombs in a honey super has begun.

Family 5-2  The work at the honey collection was strong, we saw that the bees flew very well. But the device shows that in the evening work on the processing of honey has greatly weakened. Presumably, the family has a lot of open brood, which took a lot of honey for feeding. Replenishment of honeycombs in honey super is weak. The probability of obtaining marketable honey is reduced. Control of the family and improvement of its condition is required.

Family 8-2  Working at a honey collection is only in the interest of building family strength. There is no marketable honey. In this family, a young queen started laying eggs about 14 days ago. All honey is spent on brood feeding. By the evening, there is no nectar left for processing.

Evening control of families which worked all day on honey collection.

We are conducting  demonstration of the control of two bee families, which actively worked on honey collection all day. As we said, it is not always possible to make control through the porch during day time, due to the large number of flying bees. Late evening control helps to understand how successful was the work of bees during the day.

In this case, both families are in good working condition and in spite of full brood-boxes with  brood, are working for marketable honey. This can be seen from the control results using the appropriate mode of Apmvox Smart Monitor.

Control was carried out from the apper part of the hive, through inner cover with a lattice, allowing excellent hearing of bees.

DIVISION OF THE FAMILY IN HALF. APIVOX SMART MONITOR HELP US TO FIND THE QUEEN.

This family in the experimental hive previously showed signs of preparation for swarming, as you saw in the previous article, and we have to divide it in half in order to prevent swarm from leaving. The family is divided without searching for the queen ... more precisely, we searched for it, but could not find it ... After division, smartphones with working application were installed in each family. We used Readiness to Accept New Queen mode. The result is quite clear. The red graph means a sense of queenless. There is no queen in offshoot!  White graph on the second smartphone means that the queen is in the old family, this is why, there is no feeling of queenless. The result is excellent. What needs to be done in each family is clear without comments ...
